Rome- The ancient ruins of the former Roman Empire such as the colosseum, the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church Vatican City a city-state within Rome, St. Peters Basilica one of the holiest churches and an important pilgrimage site. Also home to the famous Trevi fountain, it is said that if you throw in one coin you will return to Rome, two coins for seekers of love and three symbolise a wedding.
Venice- Venice is built on more than 100 islands so it comes as no surprise that it is known as the floating city, Queen of the Adriatic and the city of canals as it has no roads and just canals making the ever-famous gondola a fun way to get around. Not only is it known for its canals but also the Venetian masks originating from a tradition that is centuries old worn at the Carnival of Venice used to hide one’s social status or identity. Their intricate designs featuring bright colours, beads and other complex decorations make for a beautiful sight.
Cinque Terra- The Cinque Terra is made up of five seaside villages along the coastline and are notably popular for their colourful picturesque cliffside houses as well as the freshest seafood. The five towns that make up the Cinque Terra are Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore are brought together by footpaths.
Florence- Located in central Italy and the capital city of Tuscany, Florence is popular for its Renaissance art and architecture the most popular being Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture.
